LSEED reimagines indoor greens as a network of mobile, living Kokedama—biophilic balls inspired by Japanese gardening. The spheres blend recycled construction waste at 35 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, to create a palm-sized, nutrient-rich growing medium wrapped in moss. Each kokedama symbolises circularity, memory, and collective care.

Placed across campus, sold with story tags, or gifted, exchanged, each ball becomes a living fragment of the building’s past. Offcuts are composted, and broken ones can be remade—forming a closed-loop system. It is an emotional and tactile way to hold, share, and reflect on waste and green infrastructure. The moss ball becomes a decentralised living archive, cared for by many hands and rooted in place, reminding us of the material narratives embedded in our built environment.
